Consideration of representation in your film and stereotyping (use theory)

stereotype
action hero
costume
mise en scene
subverting character stereotype
audio relate
dialogue movements body language

In my group's opening two minutes we hope to represent the protagonist/protagonists as people from ex military or from a police department of some sort. We will be giving the protagonist a good representation, as to say that they are skilled and intellectual, Whilst some of the villains are the opposite and are ''brutes''. Because this film idea is Crime themed, most of the characters will be stereotypical, however there will be a few characters ( most likely villains ) who will subvert the stereotypes of what they would be generally given. The two British villains will be stereotypical, quite tall, chavvy and either in a vulnerable position or high up in the 'food chain'.

Because my group wants to include some roof jumps and martial arts fighting, it would be going with the stereotypes, because of course they are ex military and would be trained for fighting and chasing. The villains would subvert and go with the stereotypes, so it would be a mix. Some would be well trained but some may be just average people.

With mise en scene, we will be going with stereotypes of gangsters or some sort of person who has been in crime before. However, the clothes wont be posh at all, so there wont be any tuxedos or black suits, but just jeans and coats. The apparel which the protagonists will wear will probably be average un-suspicious clothing, civilian clothing rather than dressed up in a ghillie suit or something silly like that.

Also, the protagonists will most likely be white British/American, Where the stereotypes of them would be that they are the hero, they are powerful, and in charge or they have a leading role in the movie. Also a majority of the villains will be from Eastern Europe, from Lithuania. This goes with stereotypes because they are foreign.

The British villains would be quite fidgety and not as strong as the Lithuanians, and would probably be the ones causing trouble.
