Titles and Logos studies

the title of Scarface has blood red font connoting danger and murder, this is evident as there is a lot of murder within the movie as it is a action/crime genre. the background colour is also black made purposely to mix in with the colour red, connoting darkness and mystery, this is true as the movie has mystery surrounding tony Montana's rise to power, and his even being there in Miami. the font size is bold it is made to stand out and warn people of the movie almost, because of the gore and violence it has. it might also represent tony Montana's fiery temper as he kills his best friend in the movie while on a cocaine-fuelled rage.
batman the dark knight's title is dark and dingy it also has the image of the bat on it as this is batman's chosen symbol to fight crime as. the dark symbolism connotes fighting and mystery, this is essentially true as batman's identity is shrouded in mystery his alter-ego Bruce Wayne is the polar opposite instead of being rich and eccentric he is violent and scary, the darkness also connotes batman's use of instilling fear into his enemies and taking advantage of that fear to utterly decimate his opponents, the font size is pretty small compared to Scarface, the movie also uses hand to hand combat a lot. as we are in our movie/film.

the undisputed 2 title/logo uses white colour font with red colour font showing the number 2 with letters, it also has the sentence 'last man standing' below it. It connotes violence and fighting, almost like gladiatorial combat this is true because the movie is about fighting and brutal combat, the sentence last man standing implies that there might be death within the movie for the fight to be the best, and what it takes to be the best fighter. the font size is also small compared to Scarface, almost deceptive.

Diegetic + Non-Diegetic sounds for opening movie scene.

Diegetic sounds - we would like to limit diegetic sounds as much as we can, this is because a lot of Non-diegetic sounds would cover over most of the opening. however, the diegetic sounds we would like to have are the voices of characters interacting with each other. Also, we would probably include some clips with the sounds of wind. On the establishing shot, I would like to include just the sounds from filming the clip, for example because it will be on a rooftop it will hopefully be quite windy. However if the quality of the sound is quite low, we will probably include a soundboard or something of wind so as to make it non diegetic (if we have to). There will be various other diegetic sounds such as footsteps, doors opening and creaking of the floor. We may also include some other sounds but they may not be for definite.

Non-diegetic sounds - For this, we would like to include quite a few more non diegetic sounds than diegetic sounds. This is generally because the sounds are of a greater quality, and because they are created from the internet they can be easily edited. The sounds we would prefer to include would be punching sounds, which initially creates half of the punch itself because of camera techniques and angles. another few sounds we would like to add which usually are in action films is a narration at the beginning, however we may try to add a narration further into the story but we would like to limit it as much as possible so that it does not become overused at all.

I think that the music that we would input into our opening two minutes would be quite low quality because it has to be non-copyright. however if we have to during the chase scenes or fight scenes we will include some music, which would hopefully make it all co-operate a lot easier during editing.

Opening scene Fight ideas

Shot lists for our action film.

Shot lists:
we are going to be using a wide variety of shots for our movie, for example in the fight scenes we are going to be using mid-shots, this is so that we can get in close and see the fighting action in detail, then possibly we will have extreme close-up shots showing the intense emotions in the characters, so that the atmosphere is intense and full of action to match with the action scenes and music.

another shot we could use is the two-shot a two-shot can be a form of a medium shot that has two actors standing or sitting next to each other other shots include the over-the-shoulder shot,
we could have two of our characters- the criminals standing together during a drug deal or something

we could also use high and low camera angle shots, for the high camera shots normally they are shot on a crane or a hill, or looking out of a window of a high-rise to get an angle looking down. another shot usable could be the god shot- this is a shot where the camera looks straight down on a scene symbolizing gods point of view looking down on his creation, this shows the audience watching our film the bigger picture, e.g this can be an interior shot or very effective exterior shot from the sky to show possibly a crucial point in our movie. such as a death of a major character for example.
